How we got started
The idea for cannabis insurance started when founding member JB Woods received an email from an insurance carrier who began offering this unique type of insurance. During this time there were no medical marijuana regulations in the State of Colorado and a economic recession.
Plus, it seemed like medical cannabis dispensaries and cultivations facilities were the only industry expanding rapidly in Colorado as leases were signed in order to convert buildings into dispensaries, grows, and manufacturing.
Woods’ involvement in the industry was extensive writing articles for Kush Magazine, attended work group meetings for Colorado House Bill 1284, and provided seed money toward the newly formed National Cannabis Industry Association.
